Hello from the Himalayas,
Every self-powered flight needs a runway. That runway doesn’t necessarily need to be in the physical form of an asphalt road. When birds take off from a high branch, they use the runway of their stacked potential energy to have enough time to get their wings flapping to give them enough thrust to counter gravity. Drones taking off vertically use chemical energy stored in their batteries.
When you are trying to level up, you need a step change. You need to fly, not walk. What flying means to you is unique to your ambitions, your unique mix of abundance & scarcity, and your near-future plans. When you are learning to fly, you need a runway. The runway is the temporary-sufficiency of the right combination of essential components that complete your flying-sequence.
For most people who want to fly but haven’t attempted it, it’s usually because an essential component is missing from their arsenal. For many, it is a significant financial boost. For some, it’s an emotional support system. For others, it’s the right mentorship. Whatever is the essential-but-missing piece of your flying-sequence, its opportunity-value is really high for you, as you’re missing out the opportunity to fly because of the lack of this piece.
High opportunity-value justifies the unusually high-effort to fill this missing piece to complete the essential combo for your flying-sequence. That means you can walk the extra mile and not regret doing it even when you fail if it is in the pursuit of this missing piece.
WANTED: Generative Spaces
In the post-pandemic world, intimate spaces are going to get a lot more appreciation. If intimate is good, generative is great. Physical spaces that make you feel a sense of possibility or digital spaces that make you want to create — this wholesome feeling that we get being in a generative space— is the feeling we are craving now. The sense of possibility gives hope and reassurance in the time of uncertainty. If you’re creating or curating a space—physical or digital — enable it to let users generate emotions, ideas, connections, or art. Make your space generative —for yourself and for others.
